Nandini Kuehn has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Minnesota. She has worked in health care administration and in consulting for over 25 years. Her health care experience includes ten years in California where she worked in hospital administration at the University of California Hospitals in San Francisco, at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, and for a private consulting company in the Bay Area. She has international work experience in Canada and Australia. She worked within both those health systems as an administrator; in designing, implementing and assessing state level health system reform initiatives. She started her own consulting company and has worked as a private consultant in health care for the last fifteen years.
She returned to the US (New Mexico) in 2003, and continues to work as a private health consultant with a focus on health policy, program evaluation, and using health data for monitoring systems for quality. She has been active in supporting state level efforts in health reform in New Mexico and has made presentations to the Legislature as well as to different community groups around the state of New Mexico, to the New Mexico Medical Society, to UNM medical students and to doctoral level health policy students at the University of New Mexico. She is currently President of the Board of New Mexico Health Connections, a newly funded consumer operated and oriented health plan supported by the Affordable Care Act.
